UTPB’s Lone Star Conference struggles continued in frustrating fashion on Saturday, as Texas A&M-Kingsville rolled to a 56-7 victory over the visiting Falcons. The Javelinas (4-3, 2-3 in LSC) took a 28-0 lead into halftime and then added 21 points in the third quarter to put the game out of reach. The Javelinas totaled 490 yards of offense and converted nine of their 13 third down situations in the win. Texas A&M-Kingsville’s Luis Lopez and Nick Pelrean had 81 and 87 yards receiving, respectively, with a pair of touchdown catches each from quarterback Myles Carr, who threw for 271 yards and four TDs. Marquis Simmons scored the lone touchdown in the game for UTPB (2-5, 0-5 in LSC) -- a 2-yard run with 10:45 left to play in the third. The Falcons mustered just 208 yards of offense. Simmons led UTPB with 85 rushing yards and the score on 19 carries. Lee grad Caden Coots completed seven of his 12 passes for 89 yards and an interception in the loss. The Falcons will next host O
